The Beauty Regime I Use to Prevent Wrinkles – Avocado Mask With Essential Oils

by Angie

Beauty is an obsession of the ages, but there is growing evidence to suggest that our obsession with beauty is damaging our health. Women especially use myriad products, all of which are potentially exposing them—and their skin—to millions of harmful, toxic chemicals. There is little regulation or federal oversight on the ingredients in beauty products, and recent studies have shown that prolonged use and exposure to all of these products may be deadly.

I have already shifted to more safe, natural, non-toxic products for my beauty needs. I invite you to gradually do the same. Here are the basics of cutting down on the toxins and free radicals you put in and on your body:

  • Keep your beauty regimen simple. All you really need is a cleanser, toner, moisturizer, and sunscreen. Everything else, including eye creams, lotions, and fancy products, are unnecessary and rarely deliver on what they promise.
  • Beauty products often contain a plethora of toxic chemicals these days. Really pay attention to labels and ingredient lists; as a rule, the longer the list and the harder to pronounce, the more harm it will probably do you.
  • Artificial fragrances that are present in most beauty products can cause allergic reactions and other health issues. Check the ingredients section and be sure to buy products with no fragrance added.
  • Try to buy products that have a non-toxic and recyclable packaging; glass is your best choice.
  • Educate yourself on the values of the companies whose products you’re interested in buying by visiting their website. This will help you to know what their philosophy is and whether or not they are proponents of safe products.
  • Select products that use organics ingredients, as these cause the least damage to your skin and have the least impact on the environment.
  • Stay beautiful inside and out by adopting healthy eating habits and drinking plenty of water daily.
  • Start practicing yoga or meditation to promote an inner peace that will have a direct effect on your skin and get you glowing without anything extra.
  • Experiment with DIY beauty products using simple ingredients you have at home. Not only can you save money, but you can be confident knowing every ingredient in the things you are putting on your body.

One of my favorite, non-toxic ways to get that healthy glow is to make my own facial masks, especially an avocado mask with essential oils. Here’s how to do it:

Hydrating Avocado, Honey, And Essential Oils Mask

Ingredients:

  • ½ avocado, mashed
  • 1 tablespoon raw honey
  • 1 tablespoon aloe vera gel
  • ½ teaspoon pomegranate oil
  • ½ teaspoon carrot see oil
  • 2-3 drops of essential oil, preferably something suited for sensitive skin

Combine all the ingredients and mix well. Apply the paste to your face and allow it to sit for 15 minutes. Remove it gently with warm water.

This mask is perfect for cleansing, moisturizing, and healing your sensitive facial skin. The avocado is loaded with vitamins and minerals that will leave your skin feeling smooth and healthy. What’s more, you didn’t have to spend any money on harmful toxins! It’s a win-win!
