Hi, I’m Angie Spuzak!

I’m a Certified Nutrition Consultant and Holistic Personal Chef with a focus on helping women achieve hormonal balance. I feel like a veteran of the natural health industry. I opened the first cafe in Waynesville, NC that offered vegetarian and vegan options. Following this success, I became the Owner/Chef of D’Lish Very Vegetarian restaurant, which immediately became known as the healthy place to eat in Sedona, AZ. Later, I opened Green Carrot Cafe in Cottonwood, Arizona and D’lish Express, a take-out place, in Sedona. I later moved to Boulder, Co and became Holistic Personal Chef.  My interest in using food for health led me to obtain my nutrition education certificate from Bauman College of Holistic Nutrition and Culinary Arts.  This added fuel to my desire to really help individuals feel better emotionally, mentally and physically. I also hold a certificate in the Vegan Mastery Program from the Vegetarian Health Institute, as well as Raw Food Chef Certification through the Mathew Kenny Culinary Academy. I also hold a Certificate form Gastrointestinal Disorder Training For Health Care Professionals.

My approach to healing and wellbeing is therapeutic, comprehensive and restorative. My favorite therapy is food as therapy. Proper food choices will help you transform, feel nourished all the while helping you heal. My emphasis is on the importance of eating whole foods that are full of nutrients. Like my grandma used to say, “don’t eat anything you can’t pronounce”.

Eating wild caught fish, pastured animals, traditional-ethnic and properly prepared, nutrient dense food is more important than ever.

My Story:  I know what it feels like to struggle with hormonal imbalances. For many years I suffered from anxiety, leaky gut, food sensitivities, estrogen dominance, severe PMS, high cortisol, adrenal fatigue, acne, vitamin and mineral deficiencies, weight fluctuations, poor methylation and detoxification, and low T3 free levels.

That’s a long list of symptoms! I took it for granted that since I owned a vegan and raw restaurant that I was eating right. But in reality I was struggling. I had issues with almost everything I put into my mouth. The food I loved to eat created serious gut issues that left me completely confused about what to eat at all. In addition, I suffered from anxiety that created its own set of problems. Luckily, I made the right decision to attend nutrition school, which brought clarity to my situation and set me on a meaningful path of healing.  One which I hope to share with you.

As a woman who struggled with hormonal imbalances, anxiety and gut issues, I want to support other women regain their health, internal essence and vitality by helping them to improve their diet and lifestyle.

Q: Will I be hungry all the time?

Not at all! There are over 60 recipes for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and there is room for snacks in between. Every meal is delicious and created by a fabulous chef to nourish your body from the inside out. This program is not about starvation or deprivation, and we are not counting calories or dwelling on carbs. You will feel satisfied with every bite. If you do get hungry, there are extra snack recipes included!

Q: Are there any dangers of removing sugar from the diet?

Sugar is not a nutritional requirement and in fact it robs the body of nutrients. There are no known dangers caused by not consuming sugar (hint: it’s how humans lived for thousands of years)  

Q: Will I get bored eating sugar free foods?

No way! While there are some juices and smoothies for you to choose from, you will also be eating salads, soups, and even desserts that are delicious and nutritious and will eliminate toxins from your body in a safe and natural way.

Q: Do I have to take any additional supplements or pills?

Not in this program!! The only supplement I recommend that everyone take on a daily basis is a probiotic, and you’ll learn why in this program.

Q: Can I do this program if I’m pregnant or nursing?

If you are nursing, I suggest that you add at least 4-6 ounces of protein at lunch and dinner, boost your morning smoothie with a scoop of hemp or pea protein, and eat snacks between meals. Make sure you are consuming extra fat and drinking enough liquids. This program does not include any detox-provoking agents, but again, please consult with your doctor before starting this program if you have any health concerns.

Q: How will I feel during the program?

You are going to feel so healthy and energized it will amaze you! In the beginning, your body may go through a “healing phase” to re-balance and let go of toxicity. It is important to listen to your body through this program, and I will be here to support you with that. I will guide you step by step through exactly what can be done to reduce any unwanted symptoms that may appear. Q: I already eat super clean, can I still benefit from this?

Many people who eat very clean already still have room to empty out the pipes with an elimination diet and take their healthy habits to the next level. Changing up the foods we eat gives our digestion time to rest and reset, which can be helpful for anyone regardless of their current eating habits.

Q: I have a medical condition, is it still safe for me to do this program?

While this program is based on eating only whole foods, it is still advised that you consult your physician before beginning this or any program.
